      Verdict

      Grandest was not at his best on the all-weather at Newcastle last time but had gone close over today’s trip at Redcar before that. LE DELUGE was upped in class at Pontefract recently but had won over 1m1f at Redcar earlier and is still penalised for that success. However, an apprentice negates most of the 6lb extra today and Micky Hammond’s charge should go close again. It was soft ground when Henpecked scored at Hamilton a fortnight ago and Ellaal makes more appeal on this faster surface now back on a winning mark.
