Cut Ridge, Hows That and Kirkhammerton appear the trio to concentrate on and we side with Cut Ridge on this occasion. The selection is on something of a losing run but she hails from a shrewd yard and having put together a decent run at Carlisle earlier in the season, she would be capable of winning if putting up a similar race here. Hows That won at juicy odds of 20/1 in a Newcastle seller. The all-weather performer has had little experience of the turf so the market may provide the biggest clue. Kirkhammerton is not the most reliable of characters although he has few problems about staying this afternoon's trip. Supporters should expect to see him campaigned prominently. Miskina is rated in the mid-50's on the artifical surfaces and is brought here in an attempt to make hay off a lower turf mark. Cape Sydney won his maiden at the 11th attempt and is no forlorn hope to follow up. John O'Groats looks a light of his former self. A trappy affair in which Cut Ridge gets only the most tentative of nominations.
