        Verdict

        Dorian Crown looked in need of the run behind Ottoman Empire last week and is better than his finishing position suggests. EXPENSE CLAIM, who completed a hat-trick for Andrew Balding in the UK last spring, made an eye-catching debut behind Alkimos a fortnight ago with today's rivals Jawhar, Dr Faustus and the disappointing Flag Officer just in front. It would be no great shock to see him reverse the form with those who finished in front of him and he's handed the vote in an open contest. Christophe Soumillon will need to be patient on board Specific Gravity, who has a poor draw to overcome, but his mount is certain to improve from his run behind Nawwaar two weeks ago and rates a big threat.
