In depth

Verdict

Meeriss has had a couple of warm-up runs at Jebel Ali and the fact that Christophe Lemaire has been booked speaks volumes. Rock N Roll Ransom, a very lightly raced son of Red Ransom out of the brilliant Zee Zee Top, won his first two starts last summer so the lack of a recent run shouldn't be a problem. He was formerly trained by Luca Cumani, represented here by Man Of Iron, though the latter has enough weight. Mick Channon's Halicarnassus was in tremendous form at this fixture a year ago and is definitely one for the short-list but the vote goes to WONDER LAWN. He had a nice warm-up at the end of last month and Mike De Kock will have him spot-on for this.
