Tabaran is a hopeful pick ahead of Airedale Lad, with Thimblesfirth and Champagne Rossini among a batch of other contenders. The opener on the card is a moderate affair, and as one of the younger brigade, Tabaran could be the answer. He takes a drop in class after finishing in mid-division in a non-seller here in July, and with William Kennedy taking 3lb off his back, has more going for him than most. Airedale Lad was third in a similar event to this here last time, and is likely to be on the premises again, while Thimblesfirth pulled too hard on her reappearance in a mares' only contest at Uttoxeter in July, and will be fitter now. She needs to brush up her jumping though, and Champagne Rossini has flattered in this company in the past, but is trained locally and will garner some support. The betting market will probably be a big guide, but we shall rely on Tabaran.
