    Verdict

Cool Jet won a bumper for Willie Mullins a year ago and started favourite on his debut over hurdles for Brian Ellison at Newcastle in November but burst a blood vessel. Hometown Hero, a winner between the flags in Ireland, has looked in need of further than this in his last two starts but Luke was staying on over slightly shorter at Doncaster. TIGERBYTHETAIL, beaten a short-head in a bumper here last April, didn't look suited by front-running at Uttoxeter after a promising hurdling debut at Aintree and can take this moderate contest. Miss Wachit is bred to be a stayer so would have found a Southwell bumper an inadequate test of stamina last April.
