In depth

Verdict

Wogan is taken to get the better of Bougoure and French Envoy in this competitive novices' hurdle. The selection looks the type who could have a big future over fences but he has done little wrong over the smaller obstacles so far and the manner of his latest success when he beat Shining Strand would suggest that he should be up to taking this contest. Bougoure is a nice type and he did well when he beat Brave Rebellion at Catterick last time. He is open to further improvement and should give our selection plenty to think about. French Envoy would have claims on the back of his effort when a close second behind Boychuk, but he has since disappointed and it will be interesting to see how he gets on today with AP McCoy on board. Canada Street showed plenty of promise last time and is another to consider, but for the winner we return to Wogan.
