Derby entry Rain And Shade has already shown enough to suggest a race like this is a formality for him and the Rainbow Quest colt is fancied to get the better of Spring Glory and Into Action. The last named has been off the track since November, so his fitness has to be taken on trust. However, he hails from one of the shrewdest outfits on the current scene and a market move would be very dangerous to ignore. Spring Glory posted a better effort (albeit in defeat) last time out and her gutsy attitude is commendable. However, she may meet her match with Rain And Shade, who looks sure to be suited by this step up in trip and this appears to be an ideal opening for the Mark Johnson to extend his lead at the top of the All Weather trainers table.
