Verdict

BLACK 'N BREW could land this contest at a good price in which Goodison Glory and Blue Tango should also feature strongly. Importantly our pick has plenty in hand on his rivals in the weight department and he should make that count has he steps up to the mile trip for the first time. He was third in a similar standard of race here last time over the shorter seven furlong trip and from that we can assume that a better gallop over this distance may allow him to break his maiden. Its three placings from four on this surface for a horse moving in the right direction and in those he wasn't far off some decent sorts. Goodison Glory was a winner at Catterick last time on testing ground so the step up in trip from that seven furlong outing shouldn¿t be a concern. However if it turns out that this one prefers cut or even bottomless ground then the polytrack is not for him. The same can be said for Blue Tango with his best so far coming on softer going. The speed in his pedigree as well as his win over distance at Bath on latest outing means he need to be at least considered but we're not convinced he'll go on this artificial surface. Neuchantel has a similar problem after winning at Nottingham last time, hich should mean that Black 'N Brew can finally break the maiden.
