Verdict
Sir Gerard is taken to score here at the main expense of Dynacam and Woodcote Place. The selection hails from a yard whose runners normally benefit from a run and he certainly showed plenty of promise on his debut when a good fourth behind Narvik at Newmarket. That was a better race than this and with nominal improvement he should take plenty of beating. Dynacam made a pleasing debut over this course and distance last month when fifth behind Broken Spur. She was slowly away that day and is entitled to make the frame here but she is bred to be better over further in time and for that reason she is passed over. Woodcote Place finished second and in front of Dynacam in that Lingfield race and this half-brother to Cambridgeshire second Take A Bow has to enter calculations. If he improves for that debut effort then he will give our selection plenty to think about. Henchman also showed up well in that Lingfield race last month and is another to consider, but for the winner we are happy to return to Sir Gerard.
