Verdict
Rubenstar could be really well handicapped now but has lost that winning habit so instead we turn to SHADED EDGE to double up with Ever Cheerful likely to figure prominently in the shake up. The pick will be racing off a career high mark and five pounds higher than when taking victory in a similar contest over a shorter trip last time. That was at this track and the manner of the two length success suggested this mark is within his scope. Rubenstar is, in contrast, off his lowest racing rating since going handicapping. His last victory came back in 2006 off a mark 13lbs heavier and he has been showing a slight return to form in the last couple of runs. If some ability remains he could be well in contention. Ever Cheerful was well beaten by the selection last time and the revised terms make things closer but probably not enough to overturn the form fully; another placed effort is expected though. Impromptu¿s mark is looking more competitive these days but will have to find more to beat selection Shaded Edge.
