New Seeker should be well up to taking this Listed prize, with Vortex and Balthazaar's Gift the ones to give him most to do. Just the five line up here, with preference for New Seeker who has not been seen since finishing down the field in a Group 3 in Italy last October. Prior to that he gained his sole success of 2006 in a Listed contest at Redcar, and of course has tackled Group 1 company in the past. Today's opposition should not worry connections who will be quietly confident. The selection had Vortex behind at Newbury last September, and although the latter is better off at the weights now, is taken to maintain that form over Gay Kelleway's charge. Balthazaar's Gift has his first outing for Luca Cumani who won this race two years ago and who generally does well here, especially with his older horses. He may appreciate the seven furlongs judged on last year's efforts and should not be dismissed lightly. However, we remain loyal to New Seeker.
