This has an open look to it but it may be worth taking a chance with Emulate whilst Cinnamon Hill and Crystal Gazer others that could feature. The selection looked distinctly useful when making a winning debut for Barry Hills at Kempton in 2006 and was stepped up to Listed company for her next start. She trailed in last there and only beat three home on her next two starts but they did come in very hot handicaps. She was again well held on debut for this yard at Newmarket but that was in another hot contest. Connections must be hopeful that she retains some ability, she has dropped down the weights and this drop in grade could prove key. Cinnamon Hill ran well here in a maiden last season and could go well if reproducing her best form. There are some doubts about that as she disappointed at Windsor and also reared at the start and hung last time but she hasn't many miles on the clock and isn't dispensed with just yet. Farley Star and Secret Night are considered but Crystal Gazer is well handicapped on her all-weather form and there's nothing in her turf form to suggest that she won't be able to take advantage of her mark. She'll be fancied to take this but we'll take a chance that Emulate can spring a surprise.
