Unless the market suggests something markedly different, we give the vote here to Insignia, with his biggest dangers possibly being Marching Song, Chateau Istana, Chiselled and Dove Cottage. The selection has yet to see the racecourse but this 250,000 guineas purchase and has a very likeable pedigree and hails from a stable in form, and that's good enough for us. The form of Chateau Istana's form has worked out well, so he has to be considered, while Chiselled showed battling qualities when finishing second to Mary Read at Musselburgh last time. There is a lot staying blood in Dhefaaf's pedigree, which puts us off him, but Dove Cottage cost 20,000 guineas and is related to some speedy animals. On The Waterline has shown ability in being placed in both starts to date but Mrs Kepple will have to find a bit of improvement on her debut run and the Mick Channon representative was very cheaply acquired. Once again, then, the selection is Insignia.
