Nemushka is readily overlooked but all of the remainder arrive on the back of victories. The most impressive of those was arguably that of PARIS ROSE, who shrugged off a penalty for her previous win to score cosily at Newmarket last week. She's just preferred to Lyric Ballad and dual Polytrack winner Thwart, who also go in search of hat-tricks. Tuscania was winning for the first time since 2010 when successful at Yarmouth recently but the unexposed Ardingly could prove a fly in the ointment on her handicap debut after dead-heating for first at Kempton last month.
Tuscania 9-2 (9-5) Close up in last place, headway entering final 2f, led entering final furlong, soon edged left, ridden out, won at Yarmouth 1m 1f fll hcp (0-85) (4yo+) (4) gf in Jun beating Fulney (9-6) by 1l, 4 ran.
Paris Rose 13-8fav (9-2) Tracked leader, led over 1f out, ridden inside final furlong, kept on well, won at Newmarket 1m 2f hcp 0-80 (4) gd in Jun beating Amoya (9-10) by 2l, 7 ran.
Nemushka 25-1 (9-0) Held up in rear, headway over 2f out, not clear run over 1f out, switched right inside final furlong, never nearer, 4th of 7, 3 1/2l behind Oddysey (9-3) at Thirsk 1m flls hcp 0-130 (3) gf in Jun.
Ardingly (IRE) 5-2fav (9-0) Made all, ridden and hard pressed over 1f out, stayed on under pressure inside final furlong, joined post, won at Kempton 1m 2f mdn fll (5) pol in Jun deadheating with Controversy (9-0), 14 ran.
Lyric Ballad 11-2 (8-2) Close up, tracked leaders over 3f out, ridden and every chance 2f out, led approaching final furlong, ran on, won at Salisbury 1m 2f flls hcp 0-85 (4) gd in Jun beating Raushan (8-10) by 2l, 7 ran.
Thwart 7-4fav (8-12) Held up in touch, headway over 2f out, ridden to chase leader over 1f out, kept on to lead towards finish, won at Kempton 1m 4f flls hcp (0-70) (3yo+) (5) pol in Jun beating Spieta (8-11) by 1/2l, 7 ran.
