In depth

Verdict

These look a moderate lot with Sweeping Statement top rated on his form on the all-weather in the UK, though he was well beaten on his debut for new connections at Dundalk. The superbly-bred Coeur D'or has been a major disappointment, though his stable is in top form, while Yester was well beaten in a Tipperary claimer under Colin Keane when well supported though the champion comes here to ride again. True Artist has had 13 runs without winning and, though having the form to win this, refused to race at Clonmel last week so can hardly be trusted. THE PENNY is one of the few with scope having defied a 50/1 SP with a fine run at the Curragh last month so looks the one to beat.
