In depth

Verdict

MAX DYNAMITE and The King are on the same lofty mark and meet on level terms though the latter has Finny Maguire's claim to aid his cause. Narrowly beaten in his first two starts this season, including at Group 2 level, he didn't run up to that form in the same grade at the Curragh last time and will need to do much better to challenge the selection. Willie Mullins' charge, placed in the 2017 Melbourne Cup, is used to mixing it with the best and was having his first start since October when placed in the Queen Alexandra Stakes over 2m5f at Royal Ascot. It will be a surprise if any of the remainder can get close with Newlands possibly the best of them if returning to anything like the form he had shown in Dubai and Singapore though that was a long time ago.
