Verdict

FRODON beat stable companion Clan Des Obeaux and Saint Calvados when making all in this 12 months ago. He reversed Gold Cup running with Minella Indo in the Champion Chase at Down Royal on his reappearance and edged out Mister Fisher at Sandown in April. He and Bryony Frost form a formidable partnership and conditions look right for another bold showing. The 2019 winner Clan Des Obeaux did run below par last year so can’t be ignored while a cosy win at Ascot will have boosted the confidence of Lostintranslation but he did pull up here last year. Chantry House has only lost one of his five starts so far over fences but this is easily his toughest task to date, though he did beat Asterion Forlonge in the Golden Miller at Cheltenham in March. This is an easy course but 3m may be too far for Tornado Flyer, even around here.
