The May Maiden Stakes over a mile has a fairly open look to it and, as always in these types of events, paddock inspection of the runners will play its part. On the relatively small amount of form shown to date, Glimmer Of Light, Back In Action and Maystock look the principals and the former gets a tentative vote. Peter Harris's charge made his debut just 19 days ago over this course and distance, running fourth to Millafonic without being given an unnecessarily hard race. Back In Action finished fifth at Lingfield Park on his only start this year, while Maystock finished third at Folkestone on her last start, but both those lines of form appear pretty modest. However, any market move for newcomers Zonic Boom and Kituhwa should be noted as this pair hail from the high profile stables of James Fanshawe and John Gosden respectively.
