Verdict
We have the dead eight turning up for this claimer where COOLREE STAR is well treated by the framing of the race and has our confidence marginally ahead of Avow while Miss Lesley remains of interest on these terms. The pick is the highest rated in the field and while he does concede pounds all around he is still well weighted. It's not as though the Jeremy Glover trained selection is out of form after a couple of places in handicap company while his form over the summer also reads well in the context of this race. Stan Moore has his string going well and his Avow has a good chance at adding more lining to his record. He's given every chance by the framing of the contest and his second place over course and distance in a handicap two starts back offers encouragement of a big run. Miss Lesley is best in at the weights but has dipped in form since winning in this company in December while any market support for the newcomers My Meteor and Carolina Cherry should be noted. As claimers go this is competitive and on current form the vote narrowly goes to Coolree Star.
