SHAAN wasn't fancied on her debut over a mile here in November but did everything right bar win. She went ahead inside the final furlong only to be mugged on the line by Zaakhir and should go one better as she's bred for speed. Australian Queen attracted very good support in that same race but fluffed her lines at the start and was never getting there. She stayed on nicely so dropping in trip may not be to her liking though like the selection she should have made progress. Southern Storm has shown good pace in both starts over a mile on Turf so this trip shouldn't be a problem while Best New Show hasn't been beaten far in any of her four starts on a variety of surfaces.
