        Verdict

        Diamond Charlie was returning from lay-off when scoring over C&D last month and should be thereabouts again with further improvement expected. He beat Volcanic Dust and Desert Strike, who has subsequently won a claimer, on that occasion and should confirm running. Cadeaux Pearl will find this tougher than the lower grade handicap he won at Southwell last time and Titus Gent looks high enough in the weights now, so EARLSMEDIC is preferred. He had Island Legend behind when going very close over track and trip last month and last Friday's head defeat at Wolverhampton suggests Stuart Williams' charge is worth sticking with racing off the same mark today.
