In depth

Verdict

The progressive TAHITIAN PRINCE (NAP) was narrowly beaten at Doncaster having earlier landed a course and distance double. He hasn’t finished winning yet and may prove the one to side with back on the Polytrack for this Mile Series Final. The other recent winners step up in class including Thunderclap, though an apprentice’s allowance negates most of a 6lb rise as he bids for a hat-trick of course wins, while Exceedingly Regal only beat Storm Catcher by a head over track and trip and the latter is fitted with cheekpieces. Hold Fast and Sharla have also won lower grade races here but Hieronymus is preferred at this level on better terms with the selection after an earlier defeat.
