Verdict

Emma Lavelle wastes little time in sending CAPTAIN BROOMFIELD over the larger obstacles and the hint is taken with last year's point-to-point winner. He was beaten by a potentially useful sort over hurdles at Kelso last month after a 267-day break and can give the weight away all round. Maninsane is the leading danger on the formbook and does have the advantage of fencing experience after showing clear ability on all three runs over fences. Kilfilum Woods is the other one in the field with fair credentials. He was close behind the selection on his sole pointing run and hasn't been beaten far in his two runs over timber. He looks the type to improve for the switch to fences. Ferrobin and The Knot Is Tied need to find major improvement.
