Plumier was reported to have had a breathing problem when well fancied on his debut in a bumper at Ascot. If he is over his troubles, it would be no surprise to see him go close on his hurdling debut for the bang in-form Jonjo O'Neill stable. Iceberge put up on the face of it a much improved effort when third to the smart Murphys Cardinal last time, but was a long way behind the first two and may be slightly flattered by that. In a tricky race, where you will be betting on potential rather than exposed form, we will take a chance with Alan King's Rockford. Placed in a bumper earlier in his career, he put up his best effort over hurdles so far when running on into fourth behind the useful Priests Bridge at Kempton. That was an encouraging effort, and with a little improvement he could just about be good enough here.
