      Verdict

The combination of John Ferguson and A P McCoy will be popular but Aalim has yet to fully convince, having landed just a couple of modest successes before disappointing the last twice. He may well be good enough off a fair handicap mark but is not likely to represent much in the way of value and VASCO DU RONCERAY is preferred. He's competed in far better contests than this in a light career to date and was not disgraced in the decent Sandown handicap last time won by L'Unique - the French-bred gelding is taken to make his class tell. Party Rock is also short-list material if able to build on a much better Aintree effort last time but the other three are all searching for form and face a tough task.
