We finish up with a small runner uncompetitive maiden and this looks to be a two horse race between DEAUVILLE POST and Layla's Boy. The Hannon horse is 13lbs clear on ratings and really should be taking this although he won't have it that easy. The step up in trip should bring out further improvement for the son of American Post who has been running well of late. He has been contesting some decent maidens and this looks a golden opportunity to get his head in front. Layla's Boy and Jamie Spencer will give the selection most to think about. He was dropped two lbs for his last run in a decent Kempton maiden which I felt was harsh as there were some nice types in that race. The step up in trip will certainly suit and he'll push the favourite all the way to the line. If the two market leaders were to flop, Tom Dascombe's Thingathong could pick up the pieces but will do well to trouble the first two mentioned.
