Verdict

San Hernando did not beat a great deal when opening his account in a Doncaster maiden last month and Ed Dunlop's colt looks worth opposing on his handicap debut with preference for Albany over Adventurist. The selection showed improved form when a two-length third behind Silvertown at Carlisle recently and, with the stable's horses in good heart at present, he looks worth a bet to open his account for the campaign. James Fanshawe's Adventurist ran better at Leicester last time and holds subsequent Warwick winner Mexican Pete on running that day. My Daisychain was good value for his last time out success at Beverley but that was on a soft surface and he may find the going too quick today. Shape Up appears to be no better than moderate and is unlikely to trouble Albany, who gets the vote.
