The step up in trip looks ideal for ROSIKA, who is taken to complete a hat-trick at the main expense of Dhushan and Cosmic Sun. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection took a Bath maiden in April before justifying favouritism in a Salisbury handicap a couple of weeks later. She is raised 7lbs as a result here, but was staying on strongly last time and this extra couple of furlongs looks ideal, so we will stick with her. Dhushan is presumably well regarded by Michael Jarvis, after the trainer pitched him in at Group 3 level last time, following a Chepstow maiden win. He was unable to cope in the Queen's Vase, but the drop back to around 1m 4f looks a positive and we are likely to see a different horse today. Cosmic Sun took a while to notch his first win, taking the King George V Handicap over a similar trip to this at Royal Ascot last time. Fast ground suits and an 8lbs rise seems fair enough, so he can get involved in the shake-up. Thin Red Line is partnered by Jamie Spencer, who has already won on him, and Ed Dunlop steps the colt up to this trip for the first time. A 10f Pontefract win suggests he might get home, although pedigree suggests otherwise. Becausewecan is in great nick and proved his stamina at Newmarket last week. A 3lb rise for that is not excessive and he looks a serious player here, while stablemate Quai D'Orsay perhaps needs a drop in the weights. The latter comment applies to Lethal Glaze and we'll side with Rosika.
