Society Venue is taken to get the better of Stock Market and Mardood in this trappy maiden. Jedd O'Keeffe's 3-year-old gelding put in a really good effort last time out, considering that he had the worst of the draw and he also looked like he needed the run. He finished third behind Always Brave at Thirsk and he is taken to build on that and get his head in front. Stock Market failed to see out the trip last time but this lightly-raced colt will be suited by this drop in distance and it will be interesting to see how he gets on. Conversely, Mardood is upped in distance which should suit and he did shape with plenty of promise on his two runs last season. Hunting Country is an interesting newcomer from the Mark Johnston yard and he is worth a look in the market on his racecourse bow. However, Society Venue looks to have rock solid claims here and he gets the pick.
