In depth

Verdict

Out The Hat's victory here in August came on soft ground and he's struggled on fast going the last twice. Keith Dalgleish saddles a pair with The Thin Blue Line, who hasn't been beaten far in his three recent starts, looking better than Royal Advice, who has gained all three victories to date at Newcastle. SELECTED has mainly run in better company and the drop in grade can see him back in the winner's circle. The Gloaming, whose first four starts were on the all-weather, came good at Musselburgh though that was over 5f in lower grade and she's up 3lb. Iris Dancer seems better with some cut in the ground.
