A poor race in which Jordans Elect, Dispol Veleta and Calamari are among the more notable runners and we shall stick with Dispol Veleta. David Barron's stable continue in good heart and the previous course-and-distance winner ran much better than her finishing position suggests at Beverley. The ground holds few concerns and a top jockey booked. Jordans Elect is an infrequent winner but should have come on for a first run of the season. A Hamilton specialist, the Scottish air could well convince him to put his best foot forward. Calamari finished infront of our selection at Beverley. The filly is surprisingly dropped back in trip this afternoon - especially since many of her close relations seem better over further. Scotty's Future is a shadow of his former self and now has a particularly contemptuous attitude to the game. Backers are playing with whats in his head rather than from his hooves. Compton Dragon has been around the Northern National Hunt circuit without too much success and is opposed. Barataria is a high-class cast off from the Geoff Wragg stable and should have come on for a first run for his new yard. Stakes are kept to a minimum and Dispol Veleta is begrudgingly selected.
