An open affair to start day 2 of the Glorious meeting and marginal preference is for Random Quest ahead of Mana d'Argent, Kristensen and Bobsleigh. Paul Cole has his team in good order once again after a lean spell and the selection ran a most encouraging race last time when just touched off over two miles in a competitive Newmarket handicap earlier in the month. The son of Rainbow Quest has been raised 4lb since but remains well treated on the pick of his form and showed that he stays extreme trips when a close fourth over two-and-a-half miles at Royal Ascot last year. Mana d'Argent comes here in excellent form after a gallant victory at Ascot last time but Mark Johnston's charge is not the same force away from the Berkshire track and he is passed over off his current mark. Kristensen has been knocking on the door all season and shapes as though the trip will be in her favour so has to be respected while Bobsleigh has shown generally progressive form but is held by Random Quest on Newmarket form and may have to settle for a place on this occasion.
