This looks a decent renewal of the Lupe stakes with several Oaks candidates putting their reputations on the line including Mezzo Soprano, Ocean Silk and Londonnetdotcom but the vote goes to Midsummer. Henry Cecil's filly looked useful when making a belated winning debut at Kempton last month and stepped up on that when a creditable second in Lingfield's Oaks trial last time. Sure to have learnt from that experience, she is taken to go one better here. Hi Dubai is Godolphin's number one Oaks contender and they will be keen to see how stable companion Mezzo Soprano gets on against some of her likely Epsom rivals here. Ocean Silk was a good winner of a Chester maiden earlier in the month (Piano Star second) and is open to improvement. Bred to appreciate the trip, she has to be respected, as does Londonnetdotcom. Mick Channon's filly was a bitter disappointment in France on her recent return to action but may improve for the step up in trip. Oblige looks to be the best of the remainder but is more exposed than most of her rivals.
