This race has traditionally been won by a decent type and CASUAL SMILE appears capable of continuing that trend. Andrew Balding's filly was sent off as a hot favourite for the Lingfield Oaks trial but she got upset in the preliminaries and never ran any sort of a race. The handler's decision to give her a month off seems sensible under the circumstances. Almashooqa took part in a hot Newbury maiden in April though she now has something to prove having been readily outpointed at Ripon since. Dianora didn't find a great deal on her reappearance at Newbury despite substantial market confidence but Tearless is a fascinating debutant for Godolphin. Things clearly haven't gone to plan for the half-sister to an American Grade 2 winner but she's been kept in training so must have some ability.
