The Rae Guest-trained Mimic has done well this season and is respected as a live threat to all the field despite having to carry the burden of top weight. However, she has plenty to prove of a 9lb higher mark than for the latest of her successes and she may have to concede second best to a better handicapped rival. And Polar Force fits the bill as a likely candidate to defy the odds. Mystery Pips and Ela Figura hail from shrewd yards and are ones to watch in the betting. But Polar Force is long overdue another win and the 3lb he receives from Mimic is enough to swing the vote in his favour today. The fact that he is also set to race off a mark 34lb below his previous best underlines how well treated he is and any market confidence can be taken that the return to sprinting is expected to bring about the desired result.
