Novellara is lightly raced and Henry Cecil's three-year-old remains open to plenty of improvement but it is hard to get away from Scottish Stage, who gets the vote ahead of Sirce and Tartouche. The selection has easily the best form on offer and a reproduction of her latest efforts in either the Ribblesdale or Irish Oaks would surely suffice in this company. Cresta Gold is going the right way but this looks tougher and of more interest may be Art Eyes, who is better than she showed at Newmarket last time. Sirce was good value for her win at Musselburgh last time but has more to do here, while Tartouche would probably want a softer surface. There are no such problems for Scottish Stage though and Sir Michael Stoute's filly is hard to oppose.
