Expelliarmus made a reasonable debut at Ballinrobe and started favourite at Gowran but finished tailed off in the heavy conditions. Her stablemate Jeaniemacaroney had just five starts on the Flat and showed potential with a neck defeat in a Gowran maiden the highlight. KALEOSUN, a winner on the Flat in France, started odds-on for his hurdling debut at Cork and led for a long way before weakening on the run-in. That should have put him straight for this and though Macinamillion wasn't far behind he looks held. Kimy has run twice over timber in the French Provinces and conditions won't be a problem while Ose Partir had two runs on the all-weather in France at the beginning of the year and Martin Brassil will be finding a race for him soon.
