In depth

Verdict

Astroman landed a maiden hurdle over a shorter trip at Stratford but is penalised back in handicap company. JONY MAX went close in the Norfolk National over fences at Fakenham last time and can race off a 10lb lower mark back over the smaller obstacles so another bold bid is expected. Monty's Award is a course and distance winner, though is struggling for form. Barrowmount is preferred to West Orchard over today’s trip.
