Armenian Boy should safely hold the other penalised runner Dan Buoy to follow up, with Madam Cliche and newcomer Minaad best of the rest. The selection was no slouch on the Flat in France, scoring four times in all, and made a winning start for David Pipe when driven out to prevail at Stratford last month. The one caveat is that the ground is much faster here, but he looks capable of further improvement, and if getting into a rhythm, should prove hard to peg back. He makes more appeal than Dan Buoy, who to be truthful was very disappointing when fifth at Market Rasen on his latest outing. He obviously has ability and cannot be totally written off on one poor run, but he is still worth taking on. Madam Cliche has not been seen since throwing away any chance that she had at Market Rasen in April with a bad blunder at the last. Minaad was a useful middle-distance sort on the level in Germany, but might find conditions a bit too fast here, and preference is much for Armenian Boy.
