IRON HORSE made all and won by 20 lengths at Uttoxeter in May. It’s a worry that he’s been absent since but the eight-year-old has had only eight career starts so is probably still improving. Air Horse One usually takes on much stronger opposition and, though out of sorts, can’t be dismissed. Searching has been unable to cope with a rise in the weights the last twice while chaser Whoshotwho may be having a confidence-booster and isn’t particularly well handicapped.
Air Horse One 8-1 (11-11) In touch, headway after 5 out, chased leader next, every chance 3 out, weakened before next, 5th of 9, 15 1/2l behind Dan McGrue (11-10) at Plumpton 2m 5f hcp (3) hvy in Nov.
Whoshotwho (IRE) 14-1 (11-5) Held up in rear, mistake 4th, headway 11th, mistake 4 out, chasing leaders when blundered 3 out, soon beaten, 5th of 9, 22l behind Valdez (12-0) at Hereford 2m 5f hcp (3) sft in Nov.
Iron Horse 9-4fav (11-2) Made all, clear approaching last, stayed on well, won at Uttoxeter 2m 4f hcp (4) gs in May beating Final Choice (11-12) by 20l, 7 ran.
