Geordie Des Champs, who won a bumper here, gained a surprise success over the course and distance last month for which he's up 5lb. The veteran Asockastar is better known for his exploits in hunters' events but came with a late run to score over 2m4f at Worcester and will be even better suited by the longer trip. JERSEY WONDER completed a fast-ground double in the spring when scoring over the trip in this class at Fontwell then found soft going and better company against him at Haydock. He can return to winning ways as Monty Guiry appears to need some cut in the ground and Jaunty Viking is still a long way out of the handicap despite winning here a fortnight ago.
