Verdict

Point-to-point winner SMITHS CROSS made an impressive start under Rules when winning a Uttoxeter bumper by a wide margin. He can defy a penalty on that evidence which is something Summit Like Herbie failed to do when well beaten at Exeter having scored at the same track earlier. Landofsmiles may prove a bigger danger having finished second at Bangor on her debut given point-to-point winner Good And Hardy was due make his debut at Chepstow yesterday.
