Claymore is on a good hurdles mark for his seasonal debut here, and is fancied to score here; the Hobbs pair of Andy Gin and Supreme Piper could be the biggest dangers. Andy Gin is lightly raced and potentially very well treated on his defeat of Visibility here last season, but was beaten out of sight at Sandown a fortnight ago so may just be worth watching this time. Paul Flynn rides stablemate Supreme Piper, who is having his first run for eight months but ran behind some good horses last season, including Rhinestone Cowboy, so could easily be on an attractive weight for his handicap debut. But we prefer to take a chance on Claymore, a progressive chaser last season who just lost his way on his last couple of starts, albeit in hot races. It makes sense to start off back over timber this year, and providing he is reasonably fit on his first outing since March, he should have the class to take care of these.
