The most competitive race on the card can go to Fire Ranger, with Yourman, Outside Investor and Lucky Do all expected to give a good account. Fire Ranger, like the others mentioned, has been in fine form of late and bids to follow up her fluent success in novice company at Newton Abbot at the end of August. She has been plying her trade mainly in selling company since returning from an injury and since teaming up with Richard Johnson has failed to run a bad race, so even off a mark of 98 she is expected to go close again. Yourman has been improving with each race and it was no surprise when he came good at Fontwell. However, his stamina gained him the day and this drop back in trip and rise in the ratings will not be a help as Martin Pipe bids to land this race for the second year running. Outside Investor did not beat much at Fontwell last time and has more on his plate here, while Lucky Do benefited from the McCoy magic at Newton Abbot on his last outing two months ago and does not make as much appeal this time. All in all, we like the look of Fire Ranger in the finale.
