Verdict

Tanterari, Master Florian and Under The Sand look the three to concentrate on in this Beginners' Chase, and we will give Master Florian the nomination. The selection was a useful sort over hurdles and looked a certain winner last time on this track on his chasing debut until unseating his rider at the final fence. Providing he has learned from that blunder, he looks the one to beat. Tanterari could represent the main danger as he was an impressive winner of a National Hunt Flat race in Ireland on his racecourse debut, and he is sure to have been well-schooled by Martin Pipe for this his chasing bow. Under The Sand showed some promise last time at Fontwell when finishing third to Tikram, but overall he has been disappointing and looks worth opposing. Historic has had his problems but showed signs that he could be on the way back when a decent second to Mondial Jack at Hereford last time, so he could be interesting if he is supported in the market, but in an open race, we will stick with Master Florian.
