Plenty in this field make handicap debuts and Bandear looks the best of those ahead of Gold Diamond but with a run in these ranks already under the belt we like EVER SO BOLD. Willie Muir's gelding defied his odds to run well when not beaten far on his handicap debut last time. Three pounds has been removed from his mark for that and with his pilot taking off the same amount again he should run a big race. Bandear has been steadily improving in maidens and comes into this company off a good enough looking mark after his performance behind a fair sort last time so Clive Brittain's runner needs respecting. Gold Diamond has held his form without really improving in three starts but is another under a competitive looking burden on his handicap debut despite carrying top-weight. The well bred Boycott should be better than he's shown so far but until that one shows his talent we are happy to oppose him in favour of Ever So Bold.
