The Musidora may well hold the key to the outcome of The Oaks and Aidan O'Brien's Alexandrova is taken to reverse York running with Short Skirt, with Riyalma rated the pick of the remainder. Short Skirt showed a good turn of foot to win on the Knavesmire but the selection had lost ground at the start and may well have won but for that. More importantly the extra distance today is more likely to be in the favour of Alexandrova, who is stoutly bred being by Sadler's Wells out of a Shirley Heights mare. The 1,000 Guineas winner Speciosa has the class but is far from certain to stay 1m4f, while Time On looked useful when winning the Cheshire Oaks but may not have beaten a great deal. Guilia represents a yard that does well with their fillies in particular but this looks to be beyond her and of more interest may be another Stoute runner Riyalma, who did everything asked of her in the Pretty Polly and may be improving but needs to if she is to get the better of Alexandrova.
