In depth

Verdict

Mickey The Steel's very good form last autumn was on heavy ground and it was soft when he started favourite in a big field of maidens at the Curragh last month. PLEZANTLYSURPRISED made a promising debut on fast ground at Cork and found 7f too far here last month so can get off the mark. Red Wasp made a reasonable debut at the Curragh and wouldn't need to improve much to get involved while the former UK-trained Elegant Ellen ran well on her debut for new connections in a Curragh handicap.
