Whitehead Lad is still a maiden after 28 career starts and though he's gone close on several occasions over hurdles he still looks on a high enough mark. SIR ECTOR was making his handicap debut and running over hurdles for only the fourth time when an excellent second to Flemross over 2m here. A winner on the Flat in France, he looks one to follow now he's found his feet over timber. Bobby John was in very good form on good ground last summer and was expected to run well at Sligo last time as he started favourite. He appeared to find the 2m2f on the short side that day so this trip should prove ideal. Afram Blue won this a year ago on fast going and bounced back to winning form at Navan in March. He's now on his highest ever mark but his young rider can claim 3lb and he's expected to go well. Namarama is one to note as he was brought down early when well supported at Cork last week.
